Photo Enhancer

Enhance your photos in the browser with classical processing: auto levels, gray-world white balance, sharpening (unsharp mask) and median noise reduction, with before/after and PNG download. Not AI.

How the result is calculated

The image is processed on a Canvas in this order: (1) noise reduction with a 3×3 median filter per channel blended with the original by the chosen strength; (2) gray-world white balance: each channel’s gain = mean of the means ÷ channel mean; (3) auto levels: for each channel 1% is clipped at both ends (lowest lo and highest hi) and the range is stretched to 0–255 with (v−lo)×255÷(hi−lo); (4) unsharp-mask sharpening: v + amount×(v − blur) with a [1 2 1]⊗[1 2 1]÷16 blur and replicated edges. Values are rounded to the nearest integer and clamped to 0–255. The alpha channel is untouched. 16-megapixel limit. EXIF orientation is respected.

Limits: This is not AI and not model-based upscaling (the spec name says “AI” but the tool is classical only, with no magic “4K” enhancement). No CLAHE yet. Per-channel auto levels can shift colours in photos with an intentional colour cast. The 3×3 median softens fine detail. Large images are reduced to 16 megapixels. Judgement is by eye; there is no objective quality metric. Export is PNG only.
