n8n Workflow Validator

Paste an n8n workflow to check its structure: missing fields, duplicate node names, connections to missing nodes, orphan nodes, no trigger, cycles, duplicate webhooks, unbalanced expressions and leaked key patterns.

Workspace

How the result is calculated

A structural check: JSON validity, presence of nodes[] and connections{}, required node fields (name, type, typeVersion, position, parameters), unique names, both ends of each connection exist, orphan nodes (except stickyNote), no start node (a type ending in Trigger or webhook/start/cron…), cycles via DFS, duplicate webhook httpMethod + path, balanced {{ }} in strings, and known secret patterns (OpenAI sk-, GitHub ghp_, AWS AKIA, Slack xox, Google AIza, JWT, private keys).

Limits: There is no embedded node catalog: it does not verify that a type or typeVersion really exists in n8n (it may be a community node) nor the parameter values. Cycles may be intentional (loops). Secret patterns are rule-based and may miss or false-alarm.

FAQ

Does it guarantee the workflow will run?

No; it only finds common structural problems.

Why warn about triggers?

A workflow with no start node will not run on its own; that may be intended if run manually.
