How the result is calculated

Tags are built per the Open Graph protocol: the four required properties og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url; optional ones (og:description, og:site_name, og:locale, og:image:alt, image dimensions) are added when filled, plus article:* properties for the article type. Values are escaped (& " < >). The image check follows Meta guidance: 1200×630 recommended (1.91:1), under 600×315 shows as a small thumbnail, under 200×200 is below the minimum. The twitter:card tag is what enables the X card.

Limits: The tool does not fetch your live page (CORS) and does not verify that the image exists or its real dimensions; it relies on the dimensions you enter. The preview is illustrative, not an exact simulation of Facebook, X, LinkedIn or WhatsApp. For official verification use each platform’s debugger (such as Meta’s Sharing Debugger). We did not verify X image limits from its documentation directly, so no figures are given for them.

FAQ

Which Open Graph tags are required?

Four: og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url; the rest are optional.

What image size is recommended?

1200×630 pixels at 1.91:1 per Meta guidance, with 600×315 as the minimum for a large preview.

Why does the preview not update after I change tags?

Platforms cache the card; use the official debugger tool to re-scrape.
