يُقرأ النص حرفًا حرفًا (بوحدات Unicode الكاملة) ويُبقى الحرف إن انتمى إلى إحدى الفئات المحددة بخصائص Unicode: \p{L} حروف، \p{N} أرقام، \p{M} علامات (التشكيل العربي منها)، \p{P} ترقيم، \p{S} رموز، والإيموجي Extended_Pictographic مع ZWJ وVS16 ومعدّلات البشرة. ما عدا ذلك يُحذف أو يُستبدل. تحويل الأرقام يعمل بين 0-9 و٠-٩ و۰-۹.The text is read code point by code point and a character is kept if it belongs to a selected Unicode property class: \p{L} letters, \p{N} numbers, \p{M} marks (Arabic diacritics are marks), \p{P} punctuation, \p{S} symbols, and Extended_Pictographic emoji with ZWJ, VS16 and skin-tone modifiers. Everything else is removed or replaced. Digit conversion maps between 0-9, ٠-٩ and ۰-۹.

Digits in other forms (such as superscript ²) stay under “numbers” and are not converted. Keeping emoji covers pictographic characters, not everything an app may render as an image.
